Michelle Harris B.A., Dip.Ed.Psych.,Dip.S.O.Hyp.,M.Psych.,MAPS
Michelle Harris has been practicing and registered since 1994. She began working as a student psychologist at Victoria University, and commenced private practice at that time. She has been actively involved in the Eating Disorders Foundation of Victoria (EDFV), and was the president of the EDFV.
In her clinical practice she specialises in working with people suffering from eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder. She also specialises in treating survivors of sexual abuse. Michelle uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, hypnotherapy, and client centered/solution oriented therapies.
As a coach, Michelle has extensive experience with life coaching and executive coaching. She enjoys the process of energising and motivating people who are ready to make progress in their lives and careers.
Dr Simon Kinsella B.Sc.(Hons).,Dip.S.O.Hyp.,PhD, MAPS
Dr Simon Kinsella has been a registered psychologist since 1994. He has worked in the private and public hospital systems as a senior clinical psychologist. Currently, in addition to working as a clinical psychologist he holds a position as Honorary Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Melbourne. He is also a registered supervisor of psychologists.
Simon uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, family therapy, coaching techniques, hypnotherapy and biofeedback in his practice. He specialises in treating people suffering anxiety and mood disorders, and people experiencing relationship difficulties. He also uses hypnotherapy and biofeedback for a range of habit and stress related problems.
Simon coaches executives and individuals who are interested in improving any aspect of their performance. He uses a systemic approach, taking into account the range of factors that influence performance.
Joanna Mitchell B.A., B.B.Sc.,Grad Cert, Grad Dip Psych.,M.a.,M.Psych.,MAPS
Joanna Mitchell is a clinically trained psychologist with expertise and
interest in mood and anxiety disorders, particularly depression, PTSD
and panic disorder. She works part time at Monash University, Department
of General Practice and is an Honorary Fellow in the Psychology
Department.
Joanna has worked in London for the UK Sports Institute and
continues to work in private practice with athletes and sporting
organisations on clinical and performance issues. She is also currently
completing her PhD in positive psychology - the science of mental
health, wellbeing and optimal human performance - for which she was
awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council scholarship.
Joanna's interest and passion is to not only alleviate symptoms of
mental illness but to help people lead a full, happy and meaningful life.
Dean Janover B.Sc., Grad Dip Psych., Assoc.MAPS
Dean Janover has been practicing as a psychologist since 1999. During his initial training, he began working as a Youth Counsellor focusing on adolescent psychology. He has been working in the field of forensic psychology for the past five years and has focused on the treatment of both adult and juvenile offenders for Corrections Victoria and Adolescent Forensic Health Service.
Dean primarily practices Cognitive Behaviour Therapy but also utilises motivational and solution focused approaches to working with clients. He also has extensive experience in facilitating group based therapy, using both drama and experiential techniques. More recently, Dean has incorporated biofeedback for a range of presenting issues, including stress related problems. Dean has specialised in drug and alcohol counselling as well as addressing mood disorders, including anxiety and depression. He has also worked with clients in addressing forensic specific issues.
Ciaran Pier B.A.(Hons)(Psych), PhD., Assoc.MAPS
Dr Ciaran Pier has registered as a provisional psychologist in 2001 and has been practicing for approximately 4 years. Ciaran is also a Lecturer in the School of Psychology at Deakin University and is Honorary Research Fellow of the Department of General Practice, Monash University.
Ciaran completed a PhD in clinical psychology in 2005, in which she examined cognitive, emotional and physiological aspects of panic disorder. She has also established and/or administered structured programs to assist people to manage psychosocial and health-related stress and panic disorder.
Ciaran has substantial experience in helping people to overcome anxiety and mood disorders and manage health behaviours. She is particularly interested in anxiety disorders, chronic worry and obesity. Ciaran predominantly uses Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, mindfulness and coaching techniques in her current practice.
