This section has been compiled to provide you with more in depth information about the services we offer, our team, and to draw together the various sources of information about the Better Access to Mental Health Scheme. You will find information about the areas in which we specialise, our fees, rebates, and availability.
The GP Mental Health Care Plans are provided to give examples of the kinds of conditions that our psychologists treat, especially the less common conditions. There are many similar conditions to those listed, that we have not included below. To search for the dignostic criteria you can look online at the ICD-10 [ http://www.who.int/classifications/apps/icd/icd10online/ ]
If you have patients suffering conditions not listed below, please contact us to discuss whether we can assist them or for suggestions regarding alternate therapists.
Information for psychiatrists.
Unlike GPs, psychiatrists do not have to write a care plan for patients they refer to a psychologist. However, they do have to charge the appropriate Medicare item numbers for the referral and the review.
The item numbers are as follows:
- For the initial referral: Item 291
- For the review: Item 293
If you have other questions, or would like our advice please phone us on 9654 8330, or e-mail us at contact@cpph.com.au
